REALTOR® Association Raises $3,000 for Local Charities

Sumner REALTORS®, the local nonprofit membership association representing 1,000 REALTORS® and affiliated professionals in Sumner County and throughout Middle Tennessee, has donated $1,000 each to the Humane Society of Sumner County and The Jason Foundation, and the Sumner County Fire Buffs.

The funds were raised through the association’s second annual Poker Chip Challenge and Car Show event held in Hendersonville on May 14.

Participants paid a $25 entry fee to drive a route with specific stops at local businesses through Hendersonville and Gallatin and collected poker chips along the way. Motorists entered their names at each stop for giveaway opportunities and those who visited all 12 stops on the route and returned to the checkpoint with the maximum number of poker chips were entered into a grand prize drawing – a $500 Visa gift card provided by Primary Residential Mortgage, Inc. of Hendersonville.

“The many local sponsors who dedicated their Saturday to this fundraiser deserve to be recognized for the donations. Sumner REALTORS® is proud to organize the event to help other local nonprofits, but the companies who chose to participate this year made it all possible. Our goal is to raise awareness about what we are collectively doing so we can grow participation in future years from people who want a chance to win some amazing prizes while contributing to a good cause. The more people we have involved, the more money we can raise to support organizations doing important work in the community,” said Dave Chaney, CEO of Sumner REALTORS®.

Additional prize and event sponsors included Benchmark Realty, EXIT Real Estate Solutions, Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County, Halo Realty, Farmers Insurance – Michael Lajoie Agency, New Beginnings Furniture, One Stop Realty, Ron Gregory Realty & Auction, Inc., Smith.Sholar.Milliken Attorneys, Sumner Bank & Trust, The Hype Nutrition, Warranty Title Insurance Company, and Weichert Realtors – Southern Realty Partners. Booth sponsors were Acopia Home Loans, Cravens & Associates, Legacy Mutual Mortgage, and Revolution Mortgage.

Sumner REALTORS® hosts several charity fundraisers throughout the year, including its annual golf tournament scheduled for October 10 at Twelve Stones Golf Club in Goodlettsville, and the Haunted Hustle, a Halloween-themed 5K race that will take place on October 29 at the Streets of Indian Lake.
